BIM & CDE integration

Connect Autodesk BIM with construction site reality

Autodesk holds your models, drawings and project files. Bimefy adds what is happening on the construction site, and lets you compare the two at the same location.

Connect Autodesk with Bimefy

Bimefy is a construction site intelligence platform. It connects BIM, construction planning, cameras, reality capture and site data so project teams can compare what was planned with what is actually happening on site.

Autodesk is where many construction projects keep their digital information: models authored in Revit, IFC deliverables from other disciplines, drawings, and the documents that sit around them. Teams use it as the common data environment everyone coordinates through.

Bimefy connects to an Autodesk hub and reads the projects, folders and file versions your team gives it access to. Models are prepared for viewing in the browser, including IFC conversion, so they can be opened next to site imagery instead of in a separate desktop application.

What Bimefy adds is the reality layer. Fixed construction cameras, 360° walkthroughs, drone captures and the progress data derived from them are recorded against the same project and kept over time. The Autodesk model becomes the reference; the captures show what was actually built.

Bimefy is not a replacement for Autodesk. Authoring, document control and coordination stay where they are. Bimefy sits alongside them and answers a different question: does the site match the model?

What the integration enables

What connecting Autodesk to Bimefy gives a project team.

Work from your Autodesk models

Connect an Autodesk hub and bring through the projects, folders and file versions your team grants access to. New versions are tracked as they are published.

Open models in the browser

Models are prepared for web viewing, including IFC conversion, so site and office teams can open them without a desktop BIM application.

Model and site in one project

View the model and the captured site imagery in the same place, rather than switching between a common data environment and a separate camera or capture tool.

Compare BIM with reality

Use the model as the digital reference and compare it with 360° captures, camera images and drone data recorded on site.

Keep file approvals traceable

Route file versions through review and approval steps, and retain the record of which version was approved, by whom and when.

Track progress against the model

Link model components to tasks and captured evidence so progress is reported against the model instead of estimated.

How the Autodesk integration works

Four steps, from granting access to comparing the model with the site.

  1. 1Connect

An administrator authorises Bimefy against your Autodesk hub. Folder access is granted the same way it would be granted to a team member.

  2. 2Select

Choose the projects and folders Bimefy should read. File versions are tracked from that point on.

  3. 3Capture

Record the site against the same Bimefy project using fixed cameras, 360° walkthroughs or drone flights.

  4. 4Compare

Open the model and the captures together and review where the built work differs from the design.

What teams do with it

Concrete workflows this combination supports.

Compare Autodesk models with 360° captures

Walk a 360° capture of a floor and compare it with the model at the same position to check what has actually been built.

Report progress against model components

Link components to activities and back progress with captured evidence, instead of relying on verbal updates from site.

Keep models and site evidence together

Give site and office teams one place where the current model version and the most recent site imagery sit side by side.

Build a 4D view

Where schedule data is connected as well, combine model components with planned dates to review the sequence against what the captures show.

Why Bimefy and Autodesk work well together

Autodesk manages the design and document side of a construction project: the models, the versions, the approvals, the coordination. That information is authoritative, but it describes intent.

Bimefy adds the observed side: cameras, 360° captures, drone flights and the progress data derived from them. On its own that imagery is a pile of pictures. Held against an Autodesk model, it becomes a comparison.

Used together, a team can hold the model, the plan and the site in one view, without either system giving up what it is good at.

Who is this for?

Roles that get the most out of this integration.

  • BIM managers who own the model and need to know whether the site reflects it.
  • VDC and digital construction teams building model-based workflows across projects.
  • Project managers who need progress evidence solid enough to report on.
  • Enterprise IT teams responsible for how platforms are connected and how access is granted.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bimefy integrate with Autodesk?

Yes. Bimefy connects to an Autodesk hub and can read the projects, folders and file versions your team gives it access to, including models and project documents.

Which Autodesk products does Bimefy work with?

Bimefy connects through the Autodesk platform, so it works with the hubs and projects your organisation already uses, including documents stored in Autodesk Docs. Models authored in Revit and IFC deliverables from other tools can both be viewed in Bimefy.

Does Bimefy replace Autodesk?

No. Autodesk remains your authoring and document environment. Bimefy adds a site reality layer alongside it and compares captured site information with the model.

What information does Bimefy use from Autodesk?

Bimefy reads project structure, folders, file versions and model data from the locations you grant access to. It does not need access to the rest of your Autodesk environment.

Can Autodesk models be compared with construction site reality?

Yes. Bimefy positions 360° captures, camera images and drone data against the model, so built work can be reviewed against the design at the same location and at different points in time.

Can Bimefy be used across several projects?

Yes. Each Bimefy project connects to its own Autodesk location, and access is granted per project.
