Camera integration

Turn existing site cameras into construction intelligence

Most sites already have cameras. Bimefy connects supported Secury360 cameras to the project so their imagery sits with the model, the programme and the rest of the site record.

Site imagery held in project context

Connect Secury360 with Bimefy

Bimefy is a construction site intelligence platform. It connects BIM, construction planning, cameras, reality capture and site data so teams can compare what was planned with what is actually happening on site.

Secury360 provides camera systems used on construction sites, typically installed for site security and monitoring. On many projects that hardware is already in place and already looking at the areas a project team cares about.

The Bimefy integration lets those cameras be registered against a Bimefy project and send snapshots into it. Access works through a scoped partner token issued from the project's integration settings: the token grants permission to register cameras and submit snapshots for that project, and nothing else.

Once imagery arrives, it stops being a standalone security feed and becomes part of the project record. Snapshots are held against the project over time, so a location can be reviewed as it was last week or last month, next to the model and the programme for the same area.

The point is reuse. Rather than installing a second set of cameras purely for progress documentation, a project can bring the footage it already has into the environment where the rest of its construction data already sits.

What the integration enables

What connecting Secury360 to Bimefy gives a project team.

Register existing cameras

Supported cameras are registered against a Bimefy project and mapped to it, so their imagery is associated with the right site.

Bring snapshots into the project

Camera snapshots are submitted to Bimefy through the integration and stored against the project they belong to.

See imagery in project context

Camera imagery sits alongside the model, the programme and other captures instead of living in a separate monitoring tool.

Keep a visual history

Imagery is retained over time, so a given area can be reviewed as it looked at an earlier point in the build.

Know what was sent

Requests made with the integration token are logged, so it is clear what was submitted and when.

How the Secury360 integration works

A scoped token, then imagery flowing into the project.

  1. 1Issue a token

A project administrator creates a partner token in Bimefy's integration settings, scoped to camera registration and snapshot submission for that project.

  2. 2Register the camera

The camera is registered against the Bimefy project so incoming imagery can be attributed to it.

  3. 3Send snapshots

Snapshots are submitted to Bimefy using the token.

  4. 4Use in the project

Imagery appears in the project alongside the model, the programme and other site captures.

What teams do with it

Practical reasons to connect cameras you already have.

Use existing cameras for more than security

Cameras installed for site security can also feed the project record, without a second installation.

Document progress visually

Keep a running visual record of an area so progress discussions start from imagery rather than recollection.

Evidence what a location looked like

When a question comes up weeks later about how something was built, go back to the imagery from that date.

Give off-site teams visibility

Let people who are not on site see the current state of an area in the same place they review the model.

Why Bimefy and Secury360 work well together

Secury360 is focused on watching a construction site. Bimefy is focused on making sense of a construction project: the model, the programme and the captured reality, held together.

Imagery that stays inside a monitoring system answers security questions well. The same imagery, connected to the project it belongs to, can also help answer construction questions about what was built and when.

Connecting the two means the camera hardware already on site does double duty, and the project team gets another reality input without another platform to run.

Who is this for?

Roles that get the most out of this integration.

  • Site managers who want a visual record of an area without walking it every time.
  • Construction managers tracking what changed on site week to week.
  • Project managers who need evidence to support what is being reported.
  • IT teams managing how partner systems are granted access to project data.

Frequently asked questions

Can Bimefy use existing site cameras?

Yes. Supported Secury360 cameras can be registered against a Bimefy project and send imagery into it, so a project can use hardware that is already installed.

How is the Secury360 integration set up?

A project administrator issues a scoped partner token from Bimefy's integration settings. That token allows camera registration and snapshot submission for that project only.

What information moves between Secury360 and Bimefy?

Camera registration details and snapshots are sent into the Bimefy project. Access is limited to the scopes granted on the token.

Does Bimefy replace Secury360?

No. Secury360 continues to operate the camera system. Bimefy adds project context around the imagery so it can be used alongside BIM, planning and other site captures.

Can other cameras be connected in the same way?

Yes. The same integration API is available for other camera systems and for cameras a team operates itself. See the Bimefy API integration page for details.
