BIM & CDE integration

Connect Qonic BIM data with site reality

Qonic holds the model. Bimefy keeps a synced copy in the project and sets it against what the cameras and captures show on site.

Connect Qonic with Bimefy

Bimefy is a construction site intelligence platform. It connects BIM, construction planning, cameras, reality capture and site data so teams can compare what was planned with what is actually happening on site.

Qonic is a BIM environment where project models are authored and coordinated. Bimefy and Qonic are complementary: one is where the model is developed, the other is where the model meets the site.

A Bimefy project connects to Qonic through an authorised account connection. Once connected, models are synced into the Bimefy project, and the sync can run on a schedule so the copy in Bimefy follows the model as it develops rather than drifting from it.

With the model in place, captured site reality can be read against it: 360° walkthroughs, camera imagery and drone captures recorded against the same project and the same locations.

Qonic remains the modelling environment. Bimefy does not author or edit the model; it uses it as the reference against which the site is compared.

What the integration enables

What connecting Qonic to Bimefy gives a project team.

Connect a Qonic account

Authorise the connection once from the project's integration settings, scoped to the project that needs it.

Sync models into the project

Models are brought into the Bimefy project and recorded so the team can see which models are in use.

Keep the copy current

The sync can run on a schedule, so the model in Bimefy follows the model in Qonic instead of going stale.

Give the site a reference

The synced model gives captured site imagery something to be compared against at the same location.

Compare BIM with reality

Set the model against 360° captures, camera imagery and drone data to review what has actually been built.

How the Qonic integration works

Connect once, then keep model and site in step.

  1. 1Connect

Authorise Bimefy against your Qonic account from the project's integration settings.

  2. 2Sync models

Models are synced into the Bimefy project, either on demand or on a schedule.

  3. 3Capture

Record the site against the same project with cameras, 360° walkthroughs or drone flights.

  4. 4Compare

Review the model and the captures together and identify where the two differ.

What teams do with it

Where a synced model changes the conversation.

Take the model to the site

Open the current model next to imagery of the same location instead of comparing from memory.

Track progress against the model

Use the model as the reference for what should exist, and captured imagery as the evidence for what does.

Give everyone the same reference

Site teams, office teams and stakeholders all look at the same synced model rather than different exports.

Avoid comparing against a stale model

Scheduled syncing keeps the copy in Bimefy aligned with the model as it develops in Qonic.

Why Bimefy and Qonic work well together

Qonic is where the model is built and coordinated. That is demanding work, and it belongs in a dedicated modelling environment.

Bimefy is where the model is put to work against the site. It adds the capture side, the programme side and the comparison between them.

Because the two do different jobs, connecting them is additive: the modelling team carries on in Qonic, and the project gains a reference the site can be measured against.

Who is this for?

Roles that get the most out of this integration.

  • BIM managers who want the model used on site, not just coordinated in the office.
  • BIM coordinators checking that what was modelled is what was built.
  • VDC teams standardising how models feed site workflows.
  • Digital construction teams connecting modelling tools to site data.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bimefy integrate with Qonic?

Yes. A Bimefy project can be connected to a Qonic account, and models can be synced into the project.

How is the Qonic integration set up?

The connection is authorised from the project's integration settings in Bimefy and applies to that project.

What is synced from Qonic?

Project models are synced into Bimefy and recorded against the project, so the team can see which models are in use.

Does the model update automatically?

Syncing can be run on demand or on a schedule, so the copy in Bimefy follows the model as it develops.

Does Bimefy replace Qonic?

No. Qonic remains the modelling environment. Bimefy uses the model as a reference for comparing the design with captured site reality.
